Overview
The Dragino LDS25 sensor is a professional LoRaWAN LiDAR distance and level measurement device engineered for precise, long-range monitoring in harsh or remote environments. Leveraging advanced Time-of-Flight (ToF) laser technology, the sensor measures distances from as close as 0.1 m to 25 m with exceptional accuracy—±6 cm in the near range (0.1 – 6 m) and within ±1 % of reading beyond that. This wide measurement span makes it ideal for applications such as water and chemical tank monitoring, grain-silo inventory, material-pile height control, and smart infrastructure clearance detection.
Unlike ultrasonic sensors that can struggle with wind, sunlight, or dust, the Dragino LDS25 sensor maintains reliable readings in challenging conditions. A built-in auto-clean brush automatically sweeps the optical window to remove dust, water droplets, or debris, ensuring consistent performance with minimal maintenance. This feature is critical for remote deployments where frequent site visits are costly or impractical.
Designed for long-term operation, the LDS25 sensor communicates using LoRaWAN v1.0.3 Class A for secure, low-power, long-range data transmission across private or public networks. Multiple regional frequency bands (EU868, US915, AS923, and others) enable global deployment without hardware changes. Configuration of reporting intervals, distance thresholds, and cleaning schedules is simple through LoRaWAN downlinks, Bluetooth (BLE), or AT commands, and the device supports over-the-air firmware updates, allowing new features or optimizations without physical access.
Two power options provide flexibility:
-
LDS25-LB uses an 8500 mAh Li/SOCl₂ non-rechargeable battery for multi-year life at typical reporting intervals.
-
LDS25-LS integrates a 3000 mAh Li-ion battery with a compact solar panel, enabling virtually maintenance-free, continuous operation where sunlight is available.
With its rugged enclosure, precise LiDAR measurement, ultra-low-power design, and automated cleaning mechanism, the Dragino LDS25 sensor is a dependable solution for smart city projects, agriculture, industrial automation, and environmental monitoring.
