Overview

The Dragino MDS120 Microwave Radar Distance Sensor is a high-precision sensor that uses microwave radar technology to detect distances between the sensor and objects. Unlike ultrasonic or LiDAR sensors, microwave radar performs reliably in dusty, wet, or condensing environments. The sensor transmits data wirelessly via LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, or LTE-M, providing robust and long-range connectivity for industrial, smart city, and agricultural applications.

This sensor is designed for versatility and durability, featuring long-lasting power options including an 8500 mAh Li-SOCI2 battery or solar panel with Li-ion battery. It supports BLE configuration, wireless OTA updates, and multiple sampling options for flexible monitoring. Applications include parking management, object presence detection, smart trash can level monitoring, sewer monitoring, robotics, and automated control systems.
