KRAKENpro – LoRaWAN Ultrasonic Clamp-On Energy & Water Meter

KRAKENpro is a non-invasive ultrasonic clamp-on water meter designed to monitor water flow, total consumption, and thermal energy usage on pipes from ½” to 240″ without cutting or interrupting existing systems. With built-in LoRaWAN connectivity, the device transmits data wirelessly to the SenseCore Control Suite, enabling remote monitoring, alerts, and energy analytics for hydronic heating, chilled water, district energy, and industrial water systems.

Non-Invasive Ultrasonic Flow & Energy Monitoring

The KRAKENpro is designed to provide accurate monitoring of liquid flow and thermal energy usage without requiring invasive installation methods, while connecting seamlessly with the SenseCore Control Suite for a true plug-and-play monitoring experience. Once deployed, the system automatically integrates into the SenseCore platform, enabling instant access to dashboards, alerts, data exports, and remote system control without complex configuration.

KRAKENpro is a non-invasive ultrasonic clamp-on water meter that monitors water and thermal energy usage on pipes from ½” to 240″ with LoRaWAN connectivity for remote monitoring.

Using advanced ultrasonic transit-time measurement technology, external sensors clamp directly onto the outside of a pipe and measure the velocity of liquid moving through the system. Ultrasonic signals are transmitted between sensors placed on opposite sides of the pipe, and the difference in signal travel time is used to calculate the flow velocity of the liquid inside the pipe. This measurement is then converted into accurate flow rate readings and totalized consumption values.

Because the sensors never come into direct contact with the fluid, installation is fast, safe, and completely non-invasive. Existing piping infrastructure can be monitored without draining systems, cutting pipes, or interrupting operations. This makes KRAKENpro ideal for retrofit monitoring projects, energy audits, mechanical room upgrades, and large-scale infrastructure monitoring.

Fully integrated with the SenseCore Control Suite, users can visualize data in real-time, configure alerts, automate reports, and manage multiple deployments from a centralized cloud dashboard.

Thermal Energy Monitoring

In addition to measuring liquid flow, KRAKENpro can monitor thermal energy transfer within hydronic heating and chilled water systems. By combining flow measurements with supply and return temperature sensors, the system calculates the amount of thermal energy moving through the system.

The device converts this information into standard energy units, allowing facility operators to monitor:

• Heating energy consumption
• Chilled water energy usage
• Energy transfer between mechanical systems
• HVAC system performance and efficiency
• District heating and cooling distribution

This data allows operators to identify inefficiencies, monitor system performance, and optimize energy usage across buildings or campuses.

LoRaWAN Wireless Connectivity

KRAKENpro features native LoRaWAN wireless communication, enabling long-range data transmission from the meter to IoT gateways and monitoring platforms.

LoRaWAN is a low-power wide-area networking technology designed for IoT deployments that require reliable communication across large facilities or distributed infrastructure. Compared to traditional wired monitoring systems, LoRaWAN allows devices to communicate across several kilometers while maintaining extremely low power consumption.

Through LoRaWAN connectivity, KRAKENpro enables:

• Remote monitoring of flow and energy usage
• Real-time alerts for abnormal consumption or leaks
• Long-range communication across large buildings or campuses
• Integration with cloud dashboards and IoT monitoring platforms
• Scalable deployments across multiple facilities
